Dr. Walter "Wally" King, Jr. OD
Dr. Walter King, Jr. is a member of the American Optometric Association and serves on the North Carolina Board of Optometry. He is licensed to prescribe and fit corrective lenses and to diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions. Dr. King earned his Bachelor of Science from Furman University and his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He completed internships in clinics in Philadelphia, Charlotte, and Salisbury. He worked alongside his father, Dr. Walter King, Sr., for many years, which helped shape his career in optometry. Dr. King and his wife, Kristin, have two children, Neila and Mason. As a family, they enjoy traveling and spending time together. In his free time, Dr. King enjoys football, basketball, and swimming.

Dr. Walter L. King, Sr. MD- Retired in December 2020.
Dr. King is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He opened Viewmont Optometry, formerly Viewmont Eye Associates, in 1983.
With mixed emotions, he decided to retire due to the pandemic. Dr. King and his wife Miriam Hostetter King have been married for fifty-plus years and have five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
They will enjoy spending time with family, traveling and relaxing at Sunset Beach during retirement.
